Base is situated right ON THE BEACH, in fact we are Australia’s only hostel situated right on the beach! We are only 20 minutes by ferry from the mainland - Townsville. Base Maggie is all about the experience. Fun and energetic staff are here to provide the knowledge needed to enjoy both Base and the beautiful Magnetic Island itself. We have our own activities desk for scooter bicycles and even fishing trips to get you started on your daytime adventure, then our Island Bar with nightly themes and parties to enjoy the warm evenings on our deck overlooking beautiful Nelly Bay. If party is your style our Full Moon parties are held monthly with local and International DJ's on the decks.

Cleanliness

The Maggie clean team pride themselves on their high quality cleanliness. All rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily, with all beds made with fresh clean linen. Our team also clean and sanitize our Camp Kitchen daily as well.

Convenience

The only east coast hostel where the front yard is a magical white sandy beach. Just take a short ferry ride from Townsville and you will arrive on our doorstep in no time. Base is only a short walk to cafes, supermarkets, banks and much more. Walk or hire one of our many scooters or bicycles to get there or use these to casually explore the island when and how you want.
