Former ACB, Award-winning Base Backpackers Auckland is located in the heart of Auckland city on famous Queen St, less than 5 minutes walk to everything, shops, cafés, museums, Sky Tower and only a few minutes walk to train, bus and ferry terminals and Vector Arena. From the airport, the airport bus (Airbus) stops right outside our door! We have fun working here so we know you'll have fun staying in our hostel.

Our quality backpacker hostel offers comfy beds in a clean modern and secure environment. Our rooms range from private ensuite doubles to small and large dorms. Our facilities include a 24 hour reception, patrolled security, swipe card access, high speed wireless internet café, large modern kitchen with communal area and laundry, luggage storage, 2 Sky TV lounges, travel centre's, and home to Globe Bar for your nightly entertainment.

Our staff are young, helpful and friendly, as well as knowledgeable on what to do in and around Auckland. We make it easy to meet other cool travelers, with spacious dorms, a selection of chill out areas, and a variety of group activities on offer. Located under Base on Darby St the Globe Bar has nightly entertainment, special events, prize give aways & theme nights nearly every day of the week!

Globe is the ideal place to meet the locals and mingle with other travelers; from Sunday to Tuesday there’s the Big Eat with all you can eat pizza and a pint of beer or a glass of wine for only $10pp, and FREE Punch! On Wednesday we have our famous $5 night when drinks are only $5 all night, and on Thursday there is FREE Pizza - so there’s no excuse not to have a little fun!  On the sixth floor of Base our guests can also enjoy our open air Balcony Bar.
